Not a bad scam. Move your car to a 'safe' lockup then report it stolen. While everyone is looking for it strip it down to the bare shell ready to sell the bits later. When the shell is 'found' ask everyone to fund the rebuild. Sell the bits and make a tidy profit. ALLEGEDLY. I am in no way suggesting this happened in this case, just thinking aloud.
I'm surprised none has thought of this before.sigpic

Everyones very harsh and quick to judge on this one. At the IOM TT there used to always be a line of wrecked bikes and buckets for collections.
Just cause he couldn't sell it, doesn't automatically make it a complete scam.
Surely to be any sort of scam you would have to of had the car insured?
And just like this:-
Isn't a shed load of stripped off stolen gear? Apparently that's all that ever gets sold on eBay. But again, it isn't stolen, just some parts for sale.
Fair play to the lad. If he can get people to donate, of their own freewill, towards his rebuild, why not?
I'm not going to donate, but if others who know him want to, then crack on.We're not Brazil, we're Northern Ireland
