    Here we go at last

Had a great but very long day on Friday. Got there at 8.30am after being hassled by some gypo in Hinkley who insisted in holding up all the traffic whilst he was trying to "Persuade" me to sell him the Mex. :winka:

The car had developed a water leak from the water pump on the way there so first thing to do was whilst setting up the crank/cam timing (I had set the cam up a tooth out!!!!!) the radiator and fan was removed to allow guages to be fitted and the water pump tightened. This took quite a while so a lot of sitting down drinking coffee and listening to Johns stories were the order. I was visited by both Matt Clifford and Martyn Jennings to calm my already shattered nerves thinking the thing was going to blow up on the runs.
It's very scary to hear (and see your car on TV) being wound up by total strangers and I half expected to see bits of cam cover flying out of the bay!
No need to worry though as the countless runs that were done just made the car start to sound deeper and sweeter.
Just before the final run of the day my fuel pump burn't out so John had to replace this with a new unit. New pump fitted and all done at last.
Before the car came off the rollers I was treated to a tour of his workshops to see countless BDA/G's being built and also an extremely rare 2.5 BDT (One of only 10 made) that was running 1200bhp with twin turbo's
All in all a superb day spent with a genius of a man and his staff. Thank you.
The car produced 138.6bhp at the wheels on the rollers with about 175bhp at the flywheel.

    The 2.5 BDT........................
