                    I used an 092 (Diesel Granada Heavy Duty) when I used to have battery under bonnet

                    Now I have a dry cell battery in boot

                    (Well I did last time I looked in boot)

                        083 = 1 or 2 year guarantee

                        085 = 5 yr or lifetime guarantee (usually heavy duty)

                        092 = 5 yr or lifetime guarantee (very heavy duty)

                        Obviously depends where you buy battery from

                        I always used to use Unipart

                          my understanding was the different numbers referred to physical size, output, CCA's etc etc, not duration of warrantee......

                            Correct

                            But the different numbers also relate to what vehicles various batteries will fit etc
