Cumbria Old Skool Tour of the Lakes 2006 UPDATETED!!!!!!!!!!
This year, on Saturday 13th May 2006, we have organised a Lakes Tour for the Old Skool Fords up to 1980 RWD to celebrate 30 years of the mk1/mk2 Escort.
TIMETABLE
Meet at BP Truckstop Penrith - 10.00 am/10.30am
Exit J40 M6, follow A592 into town, left at mini roundabout, ½ mile turn right into truck stop.
Sign on pay on the day .
£12 .00 per car and driver to enter (£6.00 per car and driver if camping is not required).
You will be given a tour pack containing;
1 Old Skool LAKES TOUR rally plate
Map of the route - about 50 miles in all
Information of the stop-off for lunch
Information for the motor museum at the finish
Camping and meal coupon {extra camping and meal coupons for passengers £5.00}
Cars will be set of at 3 min intervals from 11.00 am
The tour will go into the heart of the Lake District taking in some of the best scenery and roads that were made for your Old Skool Ford. I am not for giving too much away, as I don’t want to spoil it for you all.
This is a tour, not a rally or a race, and there are no prizes for the first one at the finish, but what I can only say is this has the makings of a very enjoyable day out with your Old Skool Ford.
The tour will end at a motor museum in south Lakeland where I have got club admission @ £3.00 per person. Very interesting and lots of goodies for sale in the gift shop. For those wishing to have a look round even the odd Ford items of memorabilia are on sale. There is more than 30,000 exhibits well worth a look round, and as well as the gift shop, there’s a restaurant.
Over-night camping, meal, bar and entertainment.

MOT, TAX, INSURED , NO TIMEKEEPING , RACEING , OR RALLYING ,
AND YOU MUST DRIVE IN ACCORDANCE TO THE HIGHWAY CODE WE DO HAVE POLICE CAMARA VANS WORKING IN CUMBRIA . YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED !!
