Errr... the WRC cars of today are actually faster over the same stages as used by the Grp B cars - mainly due to the modern suspension/tyre/brake technology.

How do you upload - I've got some Grp B pix I took in the 80's?

That should be worth a look then! He actually drove a Group A Rover Vitesse V8 on the 84 RAC (and hit a post on the first stage, Knowsley Safari Park, and retired).

So many myths about Group B (into which virtually anything on 4 wheels that could not comply with the new Groups N or A was homologated in 1982, not just so-called "supercars").
The top 10 most successful Group B cars?
Almost certainly the smaller capacity class winners on Internationals. The Skoda 130, the Citroen Visa (both fwd and 4wd), the Escort "RS" (the former Group 4 car on direct transfer), the Escort RS2000 (the former Group 1 "Flatfront" car that often won the 2000cc class because the former Group 4 car was unreliable at International level when only in truly private hands), the Manta i200, etc.
                    Different memories.
