Hi I have been lurking on this site for about a year, but I can now post something of interest.

I am putting a 2.3 Duratec into a Mk2 Escort, the engine is a Raceline 250 bhp spec engine. So far the engine has cost me about £5k to build and install in to a Mk2 Escort and I have not got it running yet. So I think cost vs bhp, the Cossie option is cheaper.

I am going for the Duratec installation because I want an all aluminium engine in a Mk2 without the cost of a BDA.

      Great site by the way.

      John

My engine is new for half the money of a Cosworth Duratec engine, plus it has a modified wet sump to fit over a world Cup Cross Member. Were as the Cosworth is a crate supplied engine which will have to be modified to fit in the Mk2.

i was thinking of this conversion for my van, but the costs of having to put grp 4 rear end to the van is just MADNESS, as id never get my money back, but the van would be very different & nice
