Dont have enough dosh for a garage so....

Me and the missus have just bought a place together but it doesn't have a garage. I cant afford to have one built at the moment so I'm thinking about what options are available to me for storing my shell.

Its a rolling shell at present, and is currently in a friends lock-up, but I may be losing this in the near future. I cant afford to start working on it yet, but its one the cleanest shells ever - no welding, 35K, dry stored since 1982 - so I dont want to sell it, but keep it tucked away till I get the time/money to work on it.

At the moment I'm thinking about a big old shed to keep it in (such as: http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/...92825&id=19900).

If I do this though I'm worried about condensation, as my shed at the old house use to get it quite badly. So to combat this I'm thinking about getting a car-o-port type thing inside the shed: http://www.hamiltonclassic.co.uk/Pro.../CairOPort.htm

I reckon I can do all this for about £1300 - a hell of a lot cheaper than a garage!

Is this a ridiculous idea or the best I can do?

Garage

Might not be suitable for you but I bought a shipping container. The neighbours were not impressed when it landed in the back garden. I think it makes a nice feature and doesn't need painting every year.

Never had a condensation problem with the wooden sheds i've had, put a polystyrene sheet on the ceiling works well for me.

The best option is a wooden shed, which doesn't let rain in, but can "Breathe"; the constant flow of air will keep the car condensation free.

My blue RS2000 was stored in a wooden garage for many years after having been painted. It was just as good the day it was taken out for the first time(the day I bought it incidentally).

The shed/Cair O Port combo sounds good but will only work if the shed is moisture free. I have a Cair O Port for my Mexico and highly recommend it. As you say, A lot cheaper than building a garage...

The Yardmaster... Class.. My RS is kept at ma folks place as my house dont have a garage, there are garages on the estate, but the estate isnt the safest

I bought a lidget concrete garage for my mk2 and it was pretty cheap, it's 23' x 15' and only cost in the region of £1300-1400, then it was just the cost of a concrete base to put it on.

Try fleabay, i bought a concrete prefab for £25 to keep the minidiggers in. Only thing is the asbestos roofs can be a nightmare to get rid of.
