Just got my xmas wage slip today and to my great pleasure the was a bonus of £1150 in there

so best boss of the year award goes out to my boss this year

My new boss came up trumps this year : A Christmas card containing 5 Twenties, I'm also getting paid for the two bank holidays that I am not working (my normal day off in the week is a Monday) Plus I haven't taken all of my holiday allowance for this year, so I've been paid for that too, and I worked my afternoon off and got double time for it, plus a pay rise back dated for a month.

A nice round £900 quid in all

Mind you it's spent already

Last year while working for a huge commercial Bank I got feck all.

BAE SYSTEMS SUBMARINES......... met all our streched targets for pipe and vent installation on first Astute class sub so everybody.....2500+ people, all get £1600 bonus before tax.... works out at about £1100 after tax...... wooo hoooo pass the burtons catalogue

Working for yourself, the only benefit you get when it goes quiet in Dec, is more time to work on the bits, double edged sword really because you want the money, but cant earn it, and have the time, but cant spend it, !! broke even, thats the most important thing, i,ll have a cup of tea in a minute !! nows wheres that Autoglym ??

As usual I’ll be getting naff all direct from my company for Xmas!
However as we work to a ‘Collective Agreement’ over here in Norway; I will get an extra £260 for working Xmas Day & Boxing Day in my salary, which will be £145 by the time the Norwegian tax man gets his share :-(

The client we are working for has prezzies (allegedly) for all of us working on Xmas Day………don’t know what as yet………stay tuned.

Can’t complain really working over Xmas……….. as I only work 18 weeks a year…………..and get paid for 52!!
