I've done this trip for the last 4 or 5 years, it's physically tough and tiring, pretty hard on the car, and your wallet, but it's so much craic it's well worth it.
The driving it top class, and to let your car loose on the track is a riot.
There's a fair bit of drinking (hic), one night in a tent, and probably 2 overnight boat crossings. Leave Friday at 4pm, arrive Liverpool 6am the next day. Back into Dublin for 6am Monday.
Sounds to me like a bit of a plan is growing, I think I will struggle for fuel consumption with the new engine and also a four speed box, Is Dublin the easyist way to get their?????
ops sorry for the hi jacking

I have a 4 speed also James and It's fine.
Motorway cruising 70 - 75 is not bad for fuel 25- 30 mpg. It's tough on th ears though after a couple of hours.
Dublin is probably the best Port, as the overnight sailings work well, and Liverpool - Brunters is not a long hike really.
