Similar here, in fact probably longer. My RS2000 project is still on the first page of the basketcases/restorations section as well. I might actually get round to doing something with it this year as I'm finishing work in April, perfect timing as I hate freezing in the garage these days.

I don`t understand why people prefer Facebook. This layout is great. I can look at a section, then go down the list and click on the topic I want to read. On Facebook I have to work my way down each topic in turn, in the order they are posted in. I find it a lot less user friendly, or is it just me?

Not just you - I gave up on Facebook a few years back, deleted my account, and have always greatly preferred the Forum type of thing. FB saps your brain with endless adverts for krapp, religious tracts, and pictures of peoples' dinner!Originally posted by christopher dudley View PostI don`t understand why people prefer Facebook. I used to enjoy coming on here and chatting with everyone. Due to my experience in the motor trade during the late 60's and 70's, I used to enjoy offering help to anyone where I could and I've had some great conversations with friends I have made. One day I casually voiced an observation to something that I thought was potentially a problem for any first time viewer visiting the site. To my surprise I did not predict the rude replies I got in return. There was a small minority of subscribers on here that don't think you should have an opinion and don't like it when you don't agree with what they want or like. !0 years ago I sadly decided to leave to pastures new and it looks like many more have followed me since. It's a shame as Dave has put so much into this website. It's an excellent place to be, well established, superbly tailored for our cars, has a wonderful archive of information and has everything here for the enthusiast which is easy to find.Originally posted by alancdavis View PostCome on lads ,,lets make this the number one forum again,,
I'm also not interested in Facebook and for what it stands for.
I've posted a thread voicing my concerns of the drastic new government legislations that have the potential to decimate our ICE cars within the next 5 years. There have been plenty of views but nobody has commented. There is very little on the internet about this and I take it everyone is cool with what the government have planned for them.
Best Wishes to all my old friends on here, Tim

I really couldn't have made it through Jaffa's resto without this forum; knowing there are others out there with the same problems, but many with solutions, and being able to share knowledge of my fortunes and misfortunes made it all worthwhile. As I drifted off to do a Stag resto I lost contact here and didn't really understand why it all ran down.
Dave has done an absolutely selfless and thankless task over the years, and it's a shame the legacy of that is now teetering. Certainly some reviatalisation could be done - in my humble opinion -by enabling good picture and document posting. I know some will say "use a photo host" but I'm sure most know of the trap there when the host folds or goes all "subscription only" - lots get lost from the forum then in a flash.
