Try Derby Plating, I have just had a few things done with them. They only charged £430 for Mk 1 Escort Rear Bumper . Scary the prices these places charge.

Yep I bought a kit and yep it works alright.
I disposed of the chemicals in the end, not great to have the stuff lying around, what with the pickling solution and all, but yes I even managed to do a bonnet stay. If it is costing silly money and you only have small items that will fit in the buckets you get then fine, otherwise, just get a firm to do it.


The trouble is of course that you can't really put a big batch of gear in any single coating operation, so to get a large volume done it'll take a lot of goes. It can also be a bit or miss, as the voltage passing through the solution varies a lot and the more you passivate, the longer it takes to get a coating of zinc on the parts…

Interesting, I was contemplating getting a kit, what power source did you guy use?
As you say all the videos of "diy kits" show only a few parts at one time , all hanging individually.
How do the big companies do batches of bolts etc? do they use a rotating mesh bucket or something?
