I think you're missing the point: I'm just giving the forum feedback as to how it seems as a 'new' member (even if I've been on here a while); it's not friendly and welcoming like other forums I'm on, so it doesn't encourage me to want to come back. I don't necessarily want to start going to meets, but just converse from here. A few questions, but I've also a build thread to be revived, so it's not all 'one way'.
I see there was a lot of posts about being in 'cliques' which was treated as a joke by many, but it actually does seem like that as well, again speaking as a newbie/outsider. Maybe long term members don't see it that way, but believe me, from my position it really does come across that way.
Anyway, I guess I'll get responded to with more 'mooning' smilies, just thought a bit of feedback about perhaps why it's getting quiet on here might be useful for whoever runs this forum.
How do you think the older members got involved in the first place?

Haven't been on for ages, trying to build up some enthusiasm to get my RS2000 back on the road, but this thread reminds me why I haven't bothered for so long...it just seems like 'in jokes' and (pretty rubbish) 'banter': It doesn't really encourage newer members to want to get involved, so maybe that's part of the reason 'it's quiet round here' as another thread was saying?
I don't know what to suggest, but just speaking honestly as someone with an interest in RS Escorts, but who doesn't feel that there is much to want to return back to on here.
Kelvin - I didn't know anyone back in 2003 when I first joined here. I went to meets and got to know some of the lads and it grew from there. Made some good mates, some people will think I'm a nob but hey, you get out what you put in.
Did you get 'The' envelope Ches?
