Hi Paul,
I’ll try to keep this very brief and I hope my message and good intentions are clear for you! When I entered that comment about my concern for rubbishing our Escorts, I could not have predicted the reaction you and Kev would make. My feelings were that the rubbishing was a concern of mine that I thought I had picked up on for quite a while now, from about around the time you guys bought your Porsches, and it appeared to be in evidence in that particular thread. I know all about the banter which I do enjoy, but my concern was that this particular joke had gone beyond it’s sell by date and may be doing more harm than good now! I could see between the comments that there appeared to be the same concern too and so I felt that now was the time to add my view. Not once did I expect you to leave and react in the way that you did, after all it was only my humble view, so you either learn something from it or you just ignore it and let it pass over your head, as I have had to do in the past. So I thought I could mention it and get a reasonably level debate going, without all the adverse reactions that followed it! On reflection I can now see that it was the wrong thing for me to do, because it directly caused so much upset and that's the last thing I wanted! Maybe I did not word it right and aggravated you or maybe it was something else I could not consider that was the last straw for you, I don’t really know and does not matter. What I do know is that it was a total waste of time, a showdown which resulted in a fall out between us, and a loss to our mates and RallyeSport Community! I'm not happy with this outcome and I would like us all to be friends once again!
It’s obvious to me that a lot of the guys are not happy with this situation, they want us to make good our friendship and they need our help with their cars too! So what I am suggesting is that we put the whole rotten experience behind us, lets move on, then you or someone can get in touch with Dave, to ask him to allow you back on the site and help bring us all back together once again! Hopefully you, me, and the rest of us will all have learnt something good by this experience and be better off for it in the long run!
Best wishes, Tim
