  • How about ?

A link on the board to identify the standard specs , colours , trim , etc for the MK2 RS's . There often seems to be a question about black back panels or which stripe or what colour etc . I'm sure amongst the anoraks on here (no offence) we could come up with a pretty definitive check list. This would help potential purchasers who may want to know but are scared to dip a toe and ask.
Just a though as I am very bored at the moment and theres nothing to play with in the garage.

    cheers, Ruds

If people can send me a definitive list I can create a few model specific pdf's for people to read/print

thats an excellent idea......make sure to mention that a genuine RS shell can be identified by the bits & bobs....... hehehehe, brian it would be nice to see a step by step guide on this but its a vast array of things to mention

Heres the RS Mexico and RS 1800 basic tech specs

I will do a proper clear typed version but this will give ideas

they are quite big for reading purposes, and as you can see are a bit creased

As well as the brochure stuff there needs to be such detail as when did the broad stripe and the FORD nosecone change to pinstripe , when did the RS2000 badge on the boot swap sides , when did the FORD letters on the boot disapear, when did the vin plate move from the slam panel to the inner wing and it changed size, when was chocolate 76 available , what were the options (standard not series x), when did the air box change colour (blue - black - 2 fixings - 1 fixing) , did a factory vinyl roof come right down the screen pillars or stop at the top , what colour roof lining , what other differences does a base have from a custom , when did the Mex's change to roll top seats from buckets , when did the needles on the clocks change colour. When did the 2 litre badge on the front disappear.
Lots of questions there but this is an opportunity to come up with the difinitive guide .
Dave could there not be a space for a 'buyers guide' section as opposed to dropping it into the resto area.

Brian and I have already done a buying and identifying guide of sorts.

See it on Turbosport and the RSOC BB.
                          Cheers Rob.
