Its great that you are reproducing cn36 tyres for the classic
car market, you have listed on your website that the 185/70/13 tyres
are for the ford RS and Mexico this is incorrect, the actual size was 175/70/13, I would like many others purchase these but size does really matter ! :-) Regards Neil

I predominantly agree with you. The majority of fitment guides seem to list these cars as fitting 70 profile tyres from 1975 onwards. However the fitment guide I have attached is a genuine Pirelli fitment guide from shortly after that CN36 was developed. I believe the CN36 was widely available from 1969. (though it could have come out late 68.)
The page of fitment guide I have attached is from Pirelli Cinturato Fitment Book 1972, so at this point low profile tyres were hot off the press. Cars weren't fitting these modern low profile tyres till 1968. It could well be that when the low profile tyres came out, they fitted the biggest thing that would go in the wheel arch, and then later having done some more testing found it over tyred and realised that it handled better on a thinner tyre, and reverted down to 175/70R13. (the Triumph Stag did the same thing started on 185R14 then later cars were improved by fitting 175R14. It is a common mistake to think bigger tyres are just better, but it's often not true.)
This isn't intended as a know it all email. I would love to learn more. Please if you know better let me know, any fitment guides, images; I really value. And if you know more about original fitment sizes and brands it will be greatly received and help me build a more factual web site, fitment guide.
They definitely do look great though. I don't suppose you have any period pictures of Escorts on CN36?
However back to business. Getting these tyres done was tricky, and I have managed to keep the cost of the 185/70VR13 Cinturato CN36 to less than a £ 100 + VAT, but it has been a struggle, and I don't think it will happen again. It is my intention to get Pirelli to make the 175/70VR13 Cinturato CN36 but I will be very surprised if I can keep the price down that low again (It won't be much more though).
I shall keep you posted about developments.

So Before I reply does anyone have a brochure picture or close up specifically mentioning the Pirelli cn36s and the size fitted to the RS2000.
