  • Lakes 2016

Well not much excitement in here is there I can remember when this would be buzzing what's up guys no convoy threads, no banter no nothing looks like the tours not doing it for you anymore.

The route is all but done now we just have it to put to paper and make into a book, we have this year struggled a bit with the roads and the aftermath of the floods but we have a good tour for you and your car to enjoy later in may. We have secured a coffee stop in the morning in the north of the lakes with ample free private parking for lakes tour cars in a very nice setting where you will all have coffee.
Then into the ''Lakes'' part of this route has only been done once back in 2006 when the Lakes tour monster was created some of you will remember some of it some won't, however I do hope it's as good as it was all them years ago when I had dark hair and bob had hair!! and we had this crazy idea.
As you all know we are still yeah still celebrating the Anniversary of the RS Mk 2 Escort turning the big 40 just shows how old we are all getting,
so it's the RS2000 turn along with the 1800s and Mexico's and what I have planned for them and there owners.
There will be a big park up at the Heaves after the tour then you can go into the hotel for you buffet' I have a very special photo shoot planned so your patients will be appreciated parking the cars in a particular order on your return this will be set out at the heaves whilst you are all away doing the tour.
On Sunday at the show I plan to have a display for the RS Mk2 RS2000 RS1800 and Mexico and you are all welcome to display your cars , but please let me know if you are leaving the show before 3.00pm and I will make sure your car is an the front so you can get away.
All RS2000 will receive a 40th Anniversary plate that are in the display and the xpack will not be forgotten as they will have there own special 40 year plate, the RS 1800s and mexico owners you all got your plate last year so please fetch it with you I do have some left but not many.

As I always say the Lakes Tour is a enjoyable day out with your car please drive it with the respect it deserves and respect other road users the cars are now 40 ''IT'S ATOUR NOT A RALLY''.

    MOST INPORTANT !!
There will be a voting slip in your Lakes Tour pack to vote for the cars on the tour I WANT TO SEE ALOT MORE GIVEN BACK TO ME FILLED IN THIS YEAR. they will be numbered put into a box and if you number come out you will receive a special stainless steel RS logo to hang in you garage one of which you will never have seen before.

The Lakes tour is a NONE SPECTATOR EVENT.
    more info soon
    meanwhile get some crack going

As with previous Tours I can't wait, I don't know why but I'm even more excited about this one and as usual "last minute Mark" is busy trying to get his car ready! If I was to give Steve a pound for every time I've asked him to change one of my entry forms! Well - I'd be due him a few . Sorry and thanks Steve

that's serious commitment Martin. Less time for us including the ferry.

anyway, accomodation booked, ferry booked, car sitting waiting to go- am I too early?
