Well, after a full week of being back at work (yes, including the Bank holiday Monday!), I have finally managed to catch up with myself and recover from the Lakes Tour weekend.
I would like to say many thanks to all participants of the Lakes Tour 2015 10th Anniversary – your continued enthusiasm and positive comments are very much appreciated.Judging by all the good comments received about the tour and the whole weekend in general, it looks like you all enjoyed it and certainly the good weather was a big plus.Right from when I drew back the curtains at 6.00am in the morning and saw blue sky, I knew the day was going to be a good one (“Fantastic!!” were the first words that came to mind – we had to be due to have a good one sooner or later considering what the last few have been like).
I would like to thank you all that took it upon yourselves to get the painting of my car and the canvas prints of Roberts done, and as for the signed Lakes Tour plate, that was the icing on the cake – well apart from the cake itself of course! It now has pride of place on the office wall and as for the painting of the Mex, it’s in the living room (after moving one of Lynn’s horse portraits, which is now where she wanted me to put it in the first place!).
So thanks again for making The Lakes Tour 10th Anniversary what was a good day out in the Lake District with your old fordy and a good crack with other Ford minded owners. I would also like to thank Miles Catherine, Paul and Kim for putting up with us for ten years at the Heaves Hotel and all the hard work they put in and for allowing the event in their back garden.
A final thanks must go to Steve McCann, SMC Photography who worked throughout the night on Saturday printing off photographs and the Pye Motor Company in Kendal and Retroford magazine for their sponsorship and overall interest in the whole weekend. Also many thanks to the traders and Rally Sports Escort website in conjunction with Neil Fryer, Wicked Wi-fi, for setting up the entries link on the web site.
Last, but certainly not least, I would like to thank all the helpers behind the scenes, especially Robert, Gordon and Jayne Roper and my daughter Gillian who kept things running smoothly (or as smoothly as they could be).A special big thanks goes out to my wife, Lynn, for all the hours, no days, spent at the computer and photocopier in the weeks leading up to the event and without whom I would struggle to get everything done in preparation for the weekend (my admin hero!).
Cheers everyone.
