Does a glass sunroof effect value?

I have seen a superb car for sale but it has a glass sunroof, is it a big deal?

This is a preference thing How ever I am in a similar position as the black RS has one and I don't know if to get rid.

The old heads on here will know the answer

But if its the car you want and it's going to be a keeper does it matter

Id say it would affect value. Just make sure you get it for the right price.

If you find a genuinely nice car with a glass sun roof then ignore the fact that it has a sun roof. I would not want to "pass by" a nice car just because it has a sun roof. There are options if you don't like a glass sun roof, ie: that you can refit it with a vinyl sunroof which personally I like, or you can reskin the roof with a roof off a donor car.

Sadly yes!!!!.just my opinion but,it doesn't matter how mint the car is,I will not entertain a car with "any" type of sunroof!!!.they are just horrible full stop...the glass ones are old now and sadly they will leek,but if "YOU" like this car,then go for it and forget what other people say,think!!!,I hope I haven't put you off buying it!!!???,all the best,foxy..

Years ago everybody seemed to want a non sunroof RS, but being a lot of the glass and Webasto were fitted in the early years, I'd say no.

Would you down value an RS because it has mudflaps, speakers in the doors, yale locks, spot lights etc, all these were common fitment. I seem to remember the main anti sunroof reason was because they'd always leak. If the seats look ok, the floors dry and the roof is original, I'd go for it.

I had a vinyl Weathershield sun roof in my Mk1 Sport and loved it. I even used it during the winter with the heater full on!

Hope the post helped to chip him a bit on the price!!! It would be nice if we could pick up the car we awnt in the colour trim we prefer but it AINT that simple
