  • Classic Car Prices Topped out

What do we think? Are the same s--te cars going round and round on the usual for sale web sites with no takers?

    Cortina Mk4/5s asking 10k

    Mk1 Fezzies @ 4-9K

Escorts off the planet beyond 70k, basic more doors 8k plus

Only our age group and select young folk with dolla can contemplate such follies!

Discuss: I will be marking all your homework with the traditional red pen.

    Best Regards

                I agree...

For how long.....Until interest rates climb and the stock markets pick up from there low % increases over the last few years.

Bubbles forming in the classic car market, I thought there was a massive house price bubble 5 years ago around where I live, seems to still be even more rampant now.

When you see groups of people investing in any classic metal, in my mind is the time to get out as the market is overheated and the smart money would have left a while ago.

It will be a long long time before we see interest rates at pre 'financial crisis' levels.
People who have a few quid and like anything classic with an engine realize that, not only can have there dream vehicle, but it will increase in value as time goes by..hell even classic tractors are on the up!!
Only thing i would like to see is for the increase in values (particularly escorts) to slow up a bit. That way the bubble won't burst. As things are they seem to be going up in value weekly which is ridiculous and surely can't be sustained??
Please please please can I be in the 'Clique'

Unfortunately, those with the real serious money are the ones that have been buying up all the classics.

Just look at JZM Porsche for example, pretty much every car they have for sale, sells before it reaches their website. 964 Turbos at £495,000

I did a job at Leeds Porsche recently, they had a GT2, one of 7. Customer paid £118,000 for it 20 years ago, has been offered £700,000 recently, and turned it down !!

Remember, there's no capital gains to pay on any motor passed onto your kids !!

                      Marking your replies

Well done to all those who handed this homework in on time and no "dog chewed it up excuses".

Top marks to all replies, some very good points raised. One important suggestion could have been the lack of supply of these cars verses demands, but you have all passed.

Untill the the next classroom discussion. Enjoy the Wales and Lakes tours, hoping to be at both, reliability, fingers crossed.

                      Best Regards,

                      Phill
