Cant believe this. Absolute tragedy. his lovely wife also drove on the hill climbs.
We drove the Knockalla stage today in the IEC run and was thinking of him as I drove up the hairpins. Arrive home and hear the sad news.

The hillclimb fraternaty will have been left with a huge void with the passing of Simon Mckinley today.
His engineering/race car building skills were something to look up to.

His ability to get 110% out of a mk2 escort was just something else, often far quicker than most of the single seater hillclimbers.

He succombEd to injuries when driving his warrior powered Lant single seater this afternoon.

Our condolences go to his family & friends at this time.

                  A true gent, RIP Simon.

What a legend,, what a waste of life ,, absolute joy to watch him & the escort.

                    RIP big man.

Thoughts go out to the family.
Live to regret ..or regret to live.
