    'For the love of cars' (that's where this bubble began to re-inflate).

    There are positives -It makes the whole Classic Car scene healthier.

    It's a shame young folk can't afford one, but these cars are a hobby not a necessity.

        Ron Beecrofts Motoring News winning road rally car was Q plated Alan .What amount of Mk 2 RS 2000s are low milage ,untouched original cars are there about ,do we think ?
        Most of the ones I see have had a lot of work done,have poly bushes,etc and had repaints .
        I paid about £3750 for mine in 1978 ,won't sell it ,and intend to take it out next year on sunny days ,it's been stored since 1985 ,it's the fun and pride that excites me the money dosnt matter,

              I totally agree too. I've been an enthusiast since the early 70's so I don't care if mine is only worth £50! The fact is I'm not selling it so I don't care, because it's the fun I get out of owning and driving it that counts!

                Escorts are still cheap/free .
                Buy one , drive it around for years then sell it when/if you get bored and then get all your money back plus a profit . . Much better than staring at money in bank book .
                First time buyers moan about getting on the ladder but it's the same with houses isn't It ?
