just a quick question but when you pay road tax on your car - (that is those who are not Exempt) - obviously we no longer receive a tax disc, however do the DVLA send anything to confirm payment ?

Taxed the Focus RS in December and it feels 'odd' having nothing to 'Show' (so to speak) for having paid ?

I was just thinking yesterday - I have various vehicles to tax and now miss walking past them and looking at the quick renewal reminder on the screen (a tax disc). Taxing at the Post Office counter, you only get the till receipt with some info on it regarding the tax just purchased.

Exactly my view! need to dig out the receipts or go online to find out! You would like to think that we'll get a reminder when due! I may need to have a seperate marker board on the wall with the due dates.

You do get confirmation so long as you type in your Email address. You can opt to receive a text message too.

I got a reminder in the post last week and taxed mine, (although it cost nowt).

It's horrible not having a bit of round paper to stick in the window! It makes the car look naked! I feel like a "criminal" not displaying a current tax disk!

I applied on-line to renew the Focus tax disc after I had a reminder through the post. Then after paying, I got an e-mail to confirm payment, I've now printed it off and going to carry it in the car!
