Old membership numbers can be re-activated (providing the office is able) on payment of the relevant subscription. I note that no time frame indication was given to cover the "by the time I went on to site to sort it out my email wasn't recognised" but I am pleased that Emma was able to locate the old membership details & number and be able to attach it to a renewal for your friend."

'we done nothing wrong, and your lucky a member of our staff, enabled you to pay us money to do our job.'
Maybe I'm wrong but that's the way it looks to me.We're not Brazil, we're Northern Ireland

Always liked to read about RS500's being stamped up or down, the secret (NOT) RS500 Forum2, committee meeting minutes that were not even seconds (joke), questions like "why is the RSOC a Ltd company" being closed/deleted because some paranoid moderator thought "they" were under attack, committee members that came and went and why ... was better than Eastenders!

By the time the renewal came in I was 8 weeks overdue, the online renewal wasn't working, then the forum was changed and I couldn't log in due to the email mistake (theirs not mine). That made it 10 weeks. Hardly 10 years so "offering" my "original" number back if I joined for 3 years was a bit suss
The "sorted out" email came a week later offering me a new membership for £40
I didn't bother
