All very sad tbh, feel for guys like oggie and robbo who just do there job as registrars and don't get involved in the politics of it all , but the truth is its been a very very cliquish club for years and it probably will never change .
A much loved club by lots of good people , but also the envy of many a other .

Why do you need the RSOC, in what way will it affect you if it folded ?
Would you miss all the remanufactured parts they supply for Escorts ?
Would you miss the regional days every weekend with rows of MK2's ?
Would you miss the great mag with no adverts and loads of cars for sale ?
Would you miss the active forum that asks such pertinent questions as "what do you like on your toast" ?
Where else could you buy your pink RSOC thong or baby romper ?
Would you miss the persuasion they have over Ford to produce new RS models ?
Tonge in cheek ? Or is it ?
What do you get out of the RSOC that you don't get on here, if it's so good why is the old skool forum on the RSOC dead, why isn't this 14 page discussion taking place on their forum for all RSOC members to read ?
Just asking .....sigpic

Would you miss the regional days every weekend with rows of MK2's ? The Good Old Day's at Country Estates when the sun shone and you drove 300 miles in a day
Would you miss the great mag with no adverts and loads of cars for sale ? The old A5 Blue Mags were the best. Easy to read and lots of pictures from the shows you missed
Would you miss the active forum that asks such pertinent questions as "what do you like on your toast" ? Lemon and Lime Marmalade
Where else could you buy your pink RSOC thong or baby romper ? Don't stop them, what will Spence do for underwear
Would you miss the persuasion they have over Ford to produce new RS models ? I wish

Personally for me,the RSOC lost its way many years when certain individuals started looking down their noses at the cars that first beared the RS name,i didn`t bother re-joining when my membership expired, the magazine only ever had front wheel drive cars and cosworths in it,mk1 and mk2`s became 2nd class citizens.Regards Gixer1000.

Got to be honest, owning a mk2 (albeit not a RS because I can't afford it) and a cosworth, I do take offense to comments like that

The magazine has got much better lately.
The notts group is a right laugh, we had a bit of an us and them situation a while back but we all seem very much together now. I must admit I did stick to the old school people but since becoming a moderator on the notts group site I have made much more effort with ALL members.
I still love regional days and of course national day. Fortunately I get asked to display my cars by the registrars which is nice.
Ruddy has raised some very valid points but I still feel I get my £35 worth every year. For now.........Ex-Chairman of 'The Clique'
