  • Big Thanks to Kerry Sealey

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to Kerry for all his help in getting the wife's Mk 1 Mexico finally started and running again after many years of being laid up.

Hopefully now people will stop asking me if I've sorted out Em's car. All it's got to do now is pass the mot tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

Here's a few pics of her car taken today after a quick wash and polish.

I still think she should buy a Mk 2 Escort lol

Its was asleep from August 2011 ( I believe that was the Ford centenary display at Dunton) until this weekend.

Prior to that it was asleep from July 2009 until June 2011 (as the wife was pregnant and couldn't drive it due to the baby bump)
It only got recommissioned for the Ford day and then put back into mothballs (so to speak)

Had its pre MOT check today and it had a few issues, sticking rear O/S rear brake (easy fix) cracked exhaust manifold (not easy as I dont do welding, but I know a man who can) and finally an electrical issue that meant the alternator wasn't re-charging the battery. This was eventually traced to a multi plug behind the dash.

So whilist the loom was being checked, get the old scotch locks and clip connectors removed and the loom made good so we dont have any more "issues" with the electrics.

Should sale through the MOT tommorow or Wednesday, then off to the post office for the free tax disc !! (Just a shame none of my Mk2's qualify yet)

Hi Paul, She's looking fantastic. Got your PM sorry the original pictures and reciepted haven't turned up yet. I defiantly have them somewhere (3 house moves and an attic full of still to unpacked boxes after 3 years isn't helping me find them ) as soon as I find them I'll forward them .

Do wish Clive had swapped those seats into the RS2000

And my RS2000 on the same drive, could have been just as the Mex went and the RS2000 replacement arrived.... .. Clive loved his Escorts
