Lakes at new year

Can any of the lakes guys recommend a great restaurant to go to for New Year's Eve or an event close to Keswick that's family orientated

I regularly go up there for the xmas period and it is nice and quiet. If you like a nice country pub the Kirkstile Inn at Loweswater is not far from Keswick and it does some really nice food, real ales, open fire etc. They have a restaurant in the old bit of the pub or you can sit near the bar. Worth phoning up to book beforehand.
If you want something more pricey Morrels in Keswick is also worth a try.
The Horse and Farrier at Threlkeld is also good, combined with a day's climb of Blencathra.

Activities you could try:
Honister Slate mine tours or the Via Ferrata.
Whinlatter visitor centre, mountain biking / hire / tracks / Wildplay
Walks onto the fells, enjoy the snow and the views around xmas, plenty of space to explore.
