I know everyone gives you shit mate, but you have one hell of a car with a proper motor and now your putting together the ultimate engine for a escort or maybe a Fiat!!, I met you once at the classic ford show at Santa Pod a few years ago, you introduced me to Wayne from WPE and you were nothing like the bloke you are on the forums, I think you just like the winding people up I look forward to seeing this engine coming together, I know you will update it.

This engine is being built by Wayne Mitchell Competition Engines LTD in Bridgenorth near Wolverhampton so a different Wayne to who you met .

Yes met him quite a few times buying bits from him over the years and he's a nice fella as well and very honest . Plus he works fast so you don't have too wait 4 years for an engine build !!!

What are you going to do with your comfy engine Gaz?

I'll keep it for a bit as not sure if this 2.7 engine will be too much for 175's and leaf springs .
If it's ok and stays in one bit then i'll sell the little 2 litre engine as there's a few people that want it already .
If the big engine is too much and starts ripping the car too bits then i'll refit the original engine into the comfy and build another car for the big engine that's linked etc etc .
I reckon it will just light the tyres up for 3x gears so should be fine .

It should be around 240-250ibs/ft on proper Dyno-Dynamics rollers (so 280+ on coastdown pub rollers then) . Pinto based engines are always good on torque anyway but with this ones huge crank stroke and bore size it will make plenty from tickover upwards . Should be exciting too drive down the High st .
