  • eBay scam?

    Folks,
My daughter has just "sold" her Audi on eBay but the
Purchaser has not paid! Not unusual but he asked for the MOT number to check the mileage is true on the car!
Is this some sort of scam?

You should be ok mate, check the following link out,

I would give them the MOT number and test station number, I wouldn't give the V5C number though.

If you want it, get it, before someone else beats you to it.

I know what you mean mate, I don't mind giving some info but not everything. The MOT check is straightforward enough, but I wouldn't give the V5C document reference number to anyone, he can have that when he parts with his cash

Before we moved to oz we had to sell my ranger over and Kate's kuga...

The kuga went off eBay, the fella phoned before the auction ended, did his homework and then came down the day before she flew to oz, paid up fully and job done...

The ranger over was sold to a mate and that wasn't an issue...

                Sounds like normal due dilligance.
Won the auction and before paying wants to make sure he/she is not being scammed themselves.
                Fair enough.
