VMC vehicle mileage check

Anyone had a letter from these (part of experian) re a car you have sold ?
Asking for purchase date , sale date , mileage when bought/sold etc
Think its a bloody cheek asking for info then selling it on to traders .

I have had one in the past.
I think it's part of the mileage check for if a car becomes a manufacturers approved used car?
