  • What mileage would you consider to do in your MKI or MKII ?

For this years Lakes weekender some of you completed a serious amount of mileage over a 3 day period

My question is - what mileage would you consider over a 6 day period in 2015 ?

Anyone fancy a trip/tour to Monaco (1,100 miles 1 way)

It is as good as sorted already so you have notice that it will be June 2015 !!

In 2007 on the classic ford 'Mosel Valley Tour' we did 1460 miles in 4 days in my MK2 RS2000, the following weekend we did our first lakes tour, another 800 miles ......

So if the car is comfortable and reliable its not impossible

                      Hally, the basic plan is

Sunday 21st June travel down to a hotel near Euro Tunnel
Monday 22nd June through the tunnel early
Wednesday 24th arrive at Monaco mid/late afternoon
Saturday 27th head back at a pace that suits your timescale 1 day, 2 days whatever, but try and stay in groups.

We have a route that estimates 20 hours driving from Calais but only 3 of that is on motorway, the rest takes in scenic routes and may be adapted to use the Col De Turini.

Costings, well this years hotels all ranged in the 40€ to 60€ range per night, tunnel was about £72, on top of that just your fuel and food!

I would expect the Monaco hotel to be more expensive and this is a trip for wives to come along as well so triple all costs

Just to add it's approximately 730 miles from Calais/tunnel to Monaco and we will have 2.5 days to do it, maybe 300 miles the first two days and a short run in on the Wednesday, so not great mileage each day.

                        Son

Do you think we can get a Team photo outside the Café de Paris in Casino Square to impress all the Ferrari, Lambo and Bentley owners

                          Cheers

All you have to do is follow the purple road ....

                            Then the blue road ...
