VFT is never as good as a torque wrench !

    Very ****in Tight !!!

Check gearbox input shaft as clutch plate will have been "rattling" on input shaft splines - make sure no notches etc

It's always annoying when she breaks down, but when it's something that could have easily been avoided..........

The next problem is that because the mech's a friend you may be reluctant to go ding dong with him. I think you should still give him one mighty kick in the balls and leave it at that.

Hmmmmm, Never locktighted any flywheel bolts before and never had a problem. Just torqued them to the correct setting. Bit of a bummer that. Hope everything's ok.

....and, of course, the pilot bearing in the crankshaft as they are not too durable at the best of times.

Guess the flywheel came off for resurfacing after someone run the clutch plate down onto its rivets maybe?
