1st April is Tuesday so can I tax my car on Friday or do I have to do it on Monday 31st march I know you can do it a couple do days before but not sure about friday

yes I did it in march it will ask you on line when you want your tax to start properly gone up with the budget as well

I think you can tax your car now any way you want , I just did 1 year and 1 week as I did not want to waste 3 weeks of the month .

Your v5 needs to say historic tax class to get your free disc on Tuesday

i phoned up the dvla and asked. the reply was take mot, insurance and v5. fill in the v5 at the post office to historic,then the post office will send it to the dvla and im supposed to get my free tax disc? will find out soon enough

If you can get to the post office before April 1st,your road tax will be cheaper,new prices kick in beginning of April.

Will be even cheaper for some as free tax for 1973 built cars kicks in on 1st April
