LAKES TOUR 2014
This year’s Lakes Tour will follow the format of previous tours and we will endeavour to make the route take in as many of the Lakes in the Lake District as we can; some of the roads will be narrow and single track!! The tour this year will be on roads that will require you all to keep your speed down and watch what you are doing and how you are driving. There will be only one route and it will be on slow, twisty roads over high passes, but the scenery will be outstanding and there will be stops along the way for refreshments and fuel. As with previous years, camping will be available at the Heaves Hotel.
As of today I still have no official Lakes Tour sponsor. As you will all know Retroford has sponsored the Lakes Tour from the beginning in 2006 but things have changed there now and they feel that they cannot justify the small cost they contributed to the Lakes Tour for having their name on the plate. Unfortunately, because of this, I am having to increase the cost of the entry slightly this year to cover it. However, it’s not too late if anybody knows anybody or company that would like to contribute towards the cost of the Lakes Tour plates and have their logo displayed it. If so, please get in touch with me ASAP as I will be ordering the plates in the next few weeks.
Entries will open as soon as I can - you will all know when this is as it will be on the Rally Sports Escorts , Cumbria RSOC , SOSE and Lakes Tour Facebook page and probably more!!

180 will be the limit.
2014 Lakes polo shirts will be available on the entry form £15.00
If you prefer a tee shirt write in on the form. £10.00
Lakes tour mugs will be available £6.00
In past years people have booked on just to get a rally plate, taking up spaces for cars that don’t turn up on the day. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. If you just want a Lakes Tour pack but have no intention of participating on the day please let me know and I will get extra done and sell them separately! At the end of the day I want to see cars, not bodies .
Non-old skool cars - I don’t what to see them parked on the lawn amongst the old skool cars (they ruin what could otherwise be a good photo!) Camping is for Lakes Tour participants only and trailers must be parked in the car park . Caravans are NOT permitted [a small amount of camper vans may be permitted at my discretion - please get in touch with me ].
The Lakes Tour is a none spectator event.
All participating Lakes Tour car’s must be in a roadworthy condition with a full MOT and road tax be driven in a accordance of the highway code at all times and be courteous to other road users. I don’t want to see photographs on web sites this year of car’s been driven sideways sorry but it brings down the event. We did have an incident last year thankfully it was the car that came off worst not the occupants but it could have been a lot worse which brings me to the old saying !!IT’S A TOUR NOT A RALLY !! You are all out for a good day with your car for gods sake drive her with some respect and respect the other people on the tour.
