I've got a Karcher a 3.99M a sort of drum shaped one I don't think they do anymore got it about 9yrs ago....Anyway it has had a hose fitting fail, lance fail, pump fail x2, pressure switch fail, and I'm sure something else too. To be fair the last couple of years its worked fine, and it knocks off the mud and crap under arches/lower and under body and with a patio cleaner. They are not to be mixed up with the full fat industrial Karchers though.

If you really like the colour Yellow and spending money and repairing domestic appliances go for a Karcher, otherwise get a Nilfisk for not much price difference , but I'm wondering if they are starting to have problems too, and Karcher have improved their game... Kranzle seem to be very good but you pay for that upfront, but seem to be pretty indestructible.

Flow is important as well as pressure spec.

I bought a Lavor (Italian) machine 22 years ago. Had never heard of them before & I thought it would be rubbish. Full brass/ stainless pump 180 bar.
Replaced the lance about 4 years ago and the unloader valve / regulator last year. Still working great.
Stopped using detergent as it rotted out the hose fittings.

Think its better to go larger than you think you need. Small ones give trouble.

I've got a Nilfisk and it's excellent, it also came out on top in a recent test in one of the mags, either Retro or Classic Ford, can't remember which.
