Not worth opening the can of worms I feel..
Just having to except that if my mk1 from here comes with me to England I'll get slated because it's "different to the norm!" But the extra bits are common to aussie spec cars... So I'll not be cutting them off

If I was building another Escort I'd start with a good Aussie or SA shell, they are a far better base than the rotten patchwork quilts left over here at top money.
The shell is the most important part of any resto, ok so is the logbook , and a rusty one will swallow cash and time, then, after all the graft, it's still a patchwork of panels that's never as good as a factory welded example.
I've been hands on with some 'export' shells and there are lots of differences, some easy to alter and some far more difficult, also to remember is that all the 'dry' country shells aren't mint, they can still have oxide issues.
I remember many many years ago someone well respected in the Escort world telling me "the best cars are built from the best shells", I think that still stands, at the end of the day it's still Escort shaped.
As for the list, no way, IMO the lads that have done it have done it for their love of the Escort not to rob or con anyone, my lips are sealed and if that makes me a **** I can live with it....... buyer beware.
Now get the ****ers out and enjoy themsigpic
