The local VRO's have always been a horrible place to visit, and spend half the day in a queue!
I can see how this streamlining will be better, but how will they handle new imports and cherished transfers when they want to inspect the vehicles? I can only presume they will have regional assessors out on the road visiting? Which again would make things better as cars will not need to be trailered etc. for inspection

If they have lost it, or its lost in the post that is a different matter, but personally I never send anything back unless it is recorded delivery.

The whole of the civil service needs to be steamlined, modernising and the deadwood cut out.
Put people in charge of owt and they think they're something special and above the law, that's what really needs sorting.

My wife worked at the local council offices. What pi$$ed her off most was the deadwood doing **** all, seeing their time out waiting for the pension. And yes you're right, the management not having the balls to make them earn their wage. Tie that in with the whole organization having to work by the daft modern working practices and that government introduce and you have a recipe for disaster.Getting bored with the idiots

Our local office is always packed with people, mainly changing private plates etc. How is Swansea going to cope with all the extra workload when they can't get things right as it is?

Used the one at Carlisle quite a bit for cherished plate transfers, excellent staff and will be a big loss. I had a plate on retention, decided to put it on my car before the branch closed as I don't fancy sending all the paperwork in the post.
If you send anything, take photocopies first and send by registered post.
