Dont these have issues with the body getting stress fractures?

The early cars had plastic covers on the outer sills which were purely decorative .
On the evo models this was actually steel and formed part of the body strengthening.
These are tough cars and nowhere near as temperamental as legend would suggest.

Just noticed the date on the Wyedean decal, this was early 90's not 80's, still using the MK2 Escort back then.
