Advice and help needed!!!..

I bought a couple of items off a member off the rs owners club a couple of weeks ago,I paid by paypal,but only as a gift,so he didn't have to pay for any paypal fees!!,as he's a member of the rs owners club and I trusted him,also I don't get any insurance if anything goes wrong,but I trust him!!!.anyway the items got delivered,but I wAsn't in and my neighbor took them in for me,but she didn't sign for them,as the courier said that she didn't have to sigh for them!!!!.anyway I opened them and one off the items was broken,but I must admit they was packed really well!!!.so I've been in touch with him and told him the bad news,I told him last week and he said that he's looking in to it for us so he can claim back compensation.I've give him a week to sort this out,but up to now haven't heard anything from him,I text him today and asked him if he's got any news regards the claim,but I still haven't heard from him!!!.any ideas of what to do next?.thanks foxy..

In your own words "packed really well" so no liability on behalf of seller (unless item was smashed BEFORE they sent it - hard to prove)

So it is simply a case of "Damaged in Transit"

Was the item insured against damage whilst in possesion of courier ?

If not then its game over !

If it was insured then best of luck as I have NEVER heard of anyone succesfully making a claim against couriers for "Damaged in Transit" !!!

Moral to this story is if item is worth that much to you or costs that much you cannot afford to lose the money then trust nobody - FETCH IT YOURSELF

As you said Foxy, you paid via Pay Pal using the gift option some no option of a claim back there and no insurance on the items so no one to claim off either. You could take a photo of the damaged item and email it to the sender to see if he might give you a partial refund

Thanks again for the advice up to now guys!!,yes I've sent him pictures off the damage straight away,he said he paid extra for insurance on the postage,he text me this evening saying he's been busy all week and still not heard from the courier!!!!!.he's going to chase things up and try and get it sortedSo fingers crossed.I must admit that most people in the rs owners club are decent honest people!!!..

If its insured I would think it will be sorted, from experience I know couriers can be really slow getting back to you when you do an insurance claim against them.
