gone and joined the Porsche Club forum ..............
cheeRS
Been there, tried it, its shite, full of opinionated tossers up their own arses
Bit like here ...lol
In all honesty this is the best forum for banter, TR site is an older generation but lads are very helpful and knowledgeable, no banter what so ever though.
I regard the 'Home Guard' as the people who were in the RSOC when I joined up in 87, Moggy, Mexit, GJ, Leon, Andy Burton, Spence, Doyley. Would meet these people most weekends throughout Summer and see their names in Rallye News.
Then soon after i can remember meeting Custom concoursing with his car when I had OEC on the show circuit.
Along came Father and Bobby Love when the 'West Cumbria RSOC' became the Cumbria Group, very early 90's at a guess, remember first meeting Robert at Dalemain show......driving an S1 Turbo.
As the Internet grew and along with it club websites, more regular names began to appear, Frosty, Grum, Topaz, Bish, Martin, Vinny.
I regard all the above as very good friends whether they or I still have an Escort or not.
Although the money men have come and gone, bought into the 'scene' realised it wasn't for them, and moved on, the home guard are the lads who've had them, used them and abused them, repaired and restored them with their own hands.
I haven't had an RS since 2008, I have the means to buy one today if I wanted but I wont pay silly money for 'shiney' and I'm a bit too old and wise to pay less silly money for 'rotten'.
So, as long as you don't mind the odd mention of the P word , or the TR word for that matter I'll pop in now and then.
I am however ****ed if I can remember who Louie is
New blood is good , fresh ideas about thing and not going over and over about the some old things . Some tryin very hard to show how long they have been here . Been into RS's since 1989 and never been without one since , been to a few avo shows and RS shows over the years I just love escorts (cars)
