Why don't you just replace the fuel lines and seals with ethanol compatible ones?
What else is there to do?

Yes it eats alloy , brass and rubber so you need all plastic shit which then goes brittle when it gets old and your car catches fire anyway !!!! Help .

Fuel hoses are shown at around 6 mins in the video .
Checked my aircooled camper van fuel system this summer as been standing for 1.5 years and all hoses started weeping fuel when i squeezed them between my fingers !!!!! . Fuel gauge has packed up (eaten the float no doubt) and carb was jammed full of shite from the petrol tank so stripped the fuel system and cleaned it all out . Took ages and stopped me driving my Escort .

This will be the first winter that our cars will be stored away with the 10% ethanol added to fuel I rang a weber dealer and he was stressed out with this he is getting loads of damage to fuel systems of older vehicles. I myself use Ethomix but is this going to be 100% protection to stop this shite damaging our cars

It may work but i doubt it will be a 100% cure . Ethonel also absorbs water from the atmosphere and as we all know , water doesn't compress or ignite .

Over this winter, I intend to drain my fuel out completely. Pain to do but the thought of it sat in the system "Festering" is giving me nightmares already

Alcohol attracts water (hydroscopic) so providing you use your car regularly and don't store it somewhere damp it is less of an issue. It is the water content that causes the corrosion.

Fill it with BP ultimate before you store it - doesn't contain etahnol yet. Most super unleaded fuels don't contain ethanol.

We've done quite a bit of work with E85. Corrosion through water absorbtion was the biggest problem in the fuel system. The "rotting" of rubber components was less of an issue since most modern cars are already fitted with compatible fuel lines.
There's not a lot you need to do to a classic car. Like I said you either need to replace the components of the fuel system regularly or buy stuff that is compatible i.e. basic maintenance stuff. Keep on top of regular maintenance and you should be OK.
E5 has been commonplace for a few years now and most people have got away with it so far. It is E10 that is more damaging to classic cars.
You can avoid it (in the main) by switching from 95ULG to Super unleaded. However the 4 main fuel distributors in the UK will start to blend ethanol into more fuels including super unleaded soon I am told.

So where is the "Official" statement to warn owners of older cars.........nowhere to be seen. If the fuel company's & the Government were more upfront about this crap then a lot of heartache could be avoided. Boils my **** does this.

If you want the definitive answer you either need to look at the MSDS sheets for the individual fuels or email the fuel companies directly for information. They are usually pretty good at responding.
