There is no doubting Colin's ability to drive and win rallies that is all documented.
BUT one thing plays on my mind !
The fact he had no current licence to pilot the helicopter that Tragic day.
It could of all been avoided !
      Sad but True.

I'm afraid people seem to remember Colin with rose tinted glasses.
He killed 3 other people that day by being reckless with a helicopter he was neither licenced or qualified to fly...
Irrelevant of his ability behind the wheel this is all I'll remember him for..

If Colin had his licence and qualified would you think the same ? It's not like he set out to have the accident ! If you talked to his dad Jimmy about this ( as I have ) you would perhaps think different . But in saying this most of us at sometime have done some " show boating " in a car or bike etc etc , and most of the time get away with it . If you grow up watching Colin from a young age and his need for speed and living life to the max I think it is very sad how it all came to an end .

So you advocate flying the helicopter as he did without qualification or knowledge?
Perhaps If he had the correct knowledge he'd of realised the dangers involved and not flown it like a ****!!
Believe me having flown to rigs and out posts in choppers all over the world I know the knowledge base of these pulleys..

At the end of the day he flew two youngsters and another father to there death .. Need I say more
