very lucky, same happened to a lad I know on a cosworth engine....wrecked it.

Is it just random or was it an old belt that should have been changed ages ago?

just random only done about 30k ish since fitted should be good for about 70k

Back in the late 1990's, there was a batch of bad competition timing belts for the YB engine, we had two go on the cars we were looking after. Both on the run out to the first stage on events, the second one was a lucky one very much like this one. It was something we used buy in 10's the well known supplier asked for the batch number, when he was told it the phone just went quite. We just knew then something wasn't right.

I Davy, someone asked him why he had bought a transit connect and he said "cause I don't have one" was the reply
