Dave being in the same boat as u i know where your coming from
As mentioned above the XROC BB is ran (and funded) independly from the club as there isn't enough in the coffers to pay for it. It was my choice to setup and brand the BB XROC and thats fine by me as i think the current XROC owners are well on there way to getting the club back on its feet
However if i were in your situation i would be asking the exact same questions
I voted for no 3 too, i'm not a member of the RS mk11 club (would be if my car was on the road) but i do think Bulletin Boards (all internet BB's regardless of content) should be free to members, as is the spirit of the Internet!
IMO its upto the owners to fund the BB through whatever means although if members do feel they want to make donations then fine, but this should be under no obligation or give them any special treatment.
I don't agree with the passionford setup and did say as much when they came up with the idea, hence i'm not and will never be a "gold member" LOL i would love to see the accounts for that website
i favour number 2, i paid my membership when i first joined and apart from a coulpe of a4 photo copied notes once in a blue moon i have not got anything out of being a "member".... and no funny replies about what type of member..... lol
as for the BB its the best, have found it really usfull and met loads of great people thro it...... long live the BB, would be happy to subscribe.
i liked dasandrew idea for perks.
I would happily pay to use the bb,its first class, some good crack on here, but if its free, all the better, regarding mk2 club i have the same gripes as others on here, joined some months ago and have received ----------.did get my valuation after 4 months, 30 emails, lost count no of phone calls, voted2
I voted number 1, its great that they're free but being a fully paid up member doesn't automatically stop people bitching on BB's. In my opinion this is not the place for that, so anything that keeps genuine enthusiasts up to date has to be a good thing, even if I have to join the club (RSOC member 15 yrs)
