He will be 17 and wants to start to drive. The car he has is a MK2 Jetta 1.6 H plate. The question is where and how is the best /cheapest place to get insurance.
whilst he`s learning go too Marmalade Insurance. they are brilliant and charge for learners only and you learn in any car that is specified up to the value of 20k!!! it goes on postcode only and you do it on-line. my son was £80 a month or £210 for 3 months.i phoned and checked this was right and it is so he couldve learned to drive in my RS turbo or my seat leon fr! the beauty is also if he takes out insurance now in his own name the price will increase massively when he passes his test but you wont know by how much. hope this makes sense! lol.
Feel sorry for nippers these days , can't see why they are such high risks when a OAP at 70 who can hardly see or hear is less of a risk .you can get some kind of a tracking device that records speed and brake ect for a reduced premium , even drops the engines bhp output too. Which is handy for when dad is driving the car lol.
Hi Andy
Do you have Aviva Insurance over there. Here they do a very good deal if you book the lessons with them. My son just finished lessons & insured on an 05 1.2 polo
Andy my lad is with Ingienie is 18 years old was 17 when took policy out costs me £2200 per year for a 2002 Pug 206 1.1 Ltr
It is up for renewal this November and he has got prices from elsewhere without the box fitted at £800 so it does come down a lot with a years NCD .
