It would seem that most people would prefer the MKII Club to retain a BBS - it would also seem that they would prefer it to be this one as this is where we all seem to congregate.
I think Phil has to address some issues - maybe if he can do this Dave, would you reconsider the renaming of the BBS ?
Can someone explain to me what exactly the club is? On the website there are no clues - it just says "it's run by enthusiasts for enthusiasts". WHAT is run? It says there are parts experts - do they have all the Finis numbers then or what? Are there any remanufacturing projects ongoing or contact to Ford for permission to reprint stickers etc.? How many members are there? What is the elusive "Opposite Lock"? (Maybe someone can scan and post an old issue?)
Shame, I was looking forward to an indepth topic on -
'How bigs your subwoofers, mine make my bling sing', and,
'How to get 5 foot flames from an old bean tin pop rivited on the back of a 1.3'
NOT.
(unless it was one of those Pinto bean tins I've seen lurking.)
LOL.
I've looked at lots and lots of boards and this one, in its current form, is by far the best for MK2 owners.
i must admit that i am only a member of the RSOC as it fulfills my requirements and have no desire or intentions of joining any other club, however i do enjoy participating in this BB and the friendly banter, advice and help available. As with some (most ?) others who use this BB though, i was under the impression that the BB was the "official" site and voice for the mk 11 escort club, therefore if this is not the case then i understand Dave's desire to put some distance between the two, However, whilst inviting other Escort models in to the fold, i feel you would quickly switch off existing users as it would then be similar to the many other sites on the web (really i think it is a Stealth move for Dave to introduce "JAP" crap").
Dave, i think you have got the message, MK2 Rallye Sport Escorts is a fine title and sums up the subscribers nicely, keep up the good work, and has anybody out there got a blooooody roof lining out there for my beastie!.
By the way, I am on the Microphone at donnington on Saturday and sunday, pop along and say Hi (there are two of us, both named Graham, therefore pick the right one) and i can be found in and around the commentry/signing on tent in the paddock area (next to RSOC regalia)
I got to know the of the mk2 club via the website and i did join the club but must say the benefits from joining don't reflect the website but don't know if they easily could, a magazine not matter how regular cannot beat the speed of the internet, voted 3
