My point being they were 4x4

and after 1990 , when the rs500 was banned in england and development by Ford had stopped

so you are trying to compare a car that was RWD against a car 4x4
and compare a car that was a recent develpment car AND STILL BEING DEVELOPED , against a car that was no longer being developed by the menufacturer

Imagine what the rs500 would have been if it wasnt banned by its rivals and it had been developed for another 2/3 years
