Sierra's are a pile of shite with a few spoilers slapped on and a turbo transit van engine , end of .
Porsche 911's on the other hand are supercars . The end .
Uhrrmm, Porsche 911 is a direct descendant of .........
As a 1971 porsche 911 owner of 8 years i can assure you that they drive great for an old car and far superior to escorts , sierras , etc . I can jump in mine and sit at high speed all day and even though it's ancient it will still outrun a decent newish m3 etc etc .
However as good as it is an escort is more fun too drive as they slide like nothing else ever made . Put a powerful high reving atmo screamer into an escort and you have the ultimate fun classic car but they aren't much kop for long distant cruising at high speed plus they don't look as good (Mind you we are comparing a supercar to a family runaround so that's too be expected) .
You need both so my advice is buy an escort and a mk1 911 before they are 50 grand for a rusty one .
sigpic 2.1 ATMO YB POWER .
Tick tock goes the clock and the clock don't lie .
12.4sec to 109mph With NO turbo , NO gay trailer , NO slicks , NO gas , NO race fuel and NO bits missing . Beat that !!!!
....... well, I've been away in the big smoke for three days and come back to the best thread on here for a very long time ......... people who are it ...... people who think they are it ....... and then Alan pipes in with something
Leon, even Porsche aren't ashamed, one of the first exhibits in their museum, I don't think it's a Turbo tho ...
Must have a run to the multi million pound city centre Ford museum one day, the glittering building where they keep all their finest products and developments, where people come from all over the world for visits and factory tours.
Maybe we could meet up in the on site world class resteraunt before going to the store to buy bespoke items.

Com'on never been to Dagenham then Ruddy... Come on Tug's crap tours
I understand the Ford half hearted collection of stuff is still about on the remains of the Dagenham site somewhere. After we try to get in and look at the cars and turned away... I know of a great pie and mash place 5 minutes away in Dagenham just round the corner from where me Nanna used to live.
We could travel to the Aveley plant but thats all shut too (Mogsmex is around the corner though so maybe all is not lost with some AVO stuff) , maybe there would be something to look at at Head Office in Brentwood but I can't see it, or maybe Dunton...we may be lucky there as they have had a show or two in the past (for employees), and to be fair supercar rides for charity. If you wanted to visit Boreham it can be arranged to travel in a tipper truck while it gets loaded with sand or gravel. A trip to Burtons can be arranged, a place offering bespoke prices for parts.
This offer is open to all RSE supporters of course and I'm not a trader, but it will cost erm £10K for the day per person including local pick ups from London City airport and if I can be bothered some local Tube and rail stations.
Tugs, sounds like a quality day out for us country folk in the big smoke, last time I saw pictures of Fords heritage collection I thought it was all a bit new and poorly arranged, I kept this photo
To be honest the Porsche one ain't that great ....honest
