Thought that I would have a bloody moan...
Drove the escort 60 miles to my bother's house today, no problems at all, just the temp gauge shooting up when the revs go down (Regulator) but I knew the engine was fine, if a little warm.
Anyway, did a bit of running about then proceeded to drive 25 miles to a rolling road place to get my car tuned (which was booked in two weeks ago), anyway got there no problem.
Met the bloke and was told to put the car on the rollers..
Turned the key, starter motor starts playing up, so the tuner (Steve Harris) had a go, gets a battery pack and tries that...still not playing.
So he looks at the starter and the bloody thing has almost fell apart!!
Obviously he can not rolling road the car so proceeds to give me a 'bump start' so I can at least get home (60 miles). However all is not that simple as I down to under half a tank of fuel now, and had a full tank to start!
So on the way I had to leave the car running and then fill it up and rush in and pay for it.
Eventually got home, but what a pain in the arse!!!
Sometimes I feel like giving old cars a miss......
