Painting your sump is a mistake Ian, just get it sand blasted

Did Dave,s flake off because of the heat ??, and i suppose Neils never gets hots enough ??, by sanding blasting it, it goes a greyish flat colour, how do you get a nice shine to it ??

Mine flaked - to be honest I felt the powder coating was applied too thick !

As I tightened the sump bolts the layer of powder coating was distorting.

Looked and still looks mint when powder coated though

mines was powder coated and has been done
for 3 years, so its done a fair bit of running
and has been alright, did notice when i used another
powder coater for a inlet manifold that they did not
make a very good job of it. may be best to use one whose work
you have seen, cheers kev

Just get it ceramic blasted, No?
