Aled when I was working at a Rover main dealer and any of our drivers/techs were road testing or collecting/delivering Police liveried vehicles to or from Police garages for warranty work or repair etc it was "mandatory" that ALL Police signs and lights were covered over when driven on public roads so we were not seen as "impersonating a Police Officer"

So if this "was" a TV/Prop why is it able to be used on a Public road ?

We are aware of a picture circulating of a 'police officer' using a mobile phone while driving. After a bit of digging by our Sussex colleagues, it appears the snapshot is taken from some moving footage. In the footage the letters CFZ can be seen on the side of the van, which indicates it is a film/tv prop and not a genuine police vehicle.

I was angry to see this as I was recently given the fixed penalty for picking mine up to reject the call when in a work van

Serves me right I did know I shouldn't have picked up

Its sad to say that some officers are more strict than others as when I asked if I was to deny picking up the phone and saying it was a mars bar what will he do
Answer , I will do you for driving with our due care and attention

Hence the anger and post to show my protest

Traveling on the M5 today at 70mph and a mobile camera van passed me doing at least 80. How hypocritical is that.
